No matter how much you trust your mover, you cannot always be sure of the safety of all your belongings during a move. The movers themselves or some strangers can easily grab valuables from your possessions whenever they are in transit. Indeed, it is not new to you that this can happen anytime. And your only solution here is to be prepared for such kind of circumstances.
First, it is a must for you to know what the potential items thieves will usually grab from your belongings. Of course, it will not be your heavy items such as your chairs, cabinets, and tables. Aside from being difficult to be moved, they can also be hard to sell. Other items that will not interest thieves include books and other small stuff you have. They simply do not have the high retail value, which will make them not worthy to be grabbed.
Knowing all these things, you must give your attention to your more valuable items to protect from thieves. As much as possible, do not let them be transported together with your other stuff in the cargo. Of course, you can always have your jewelry box in the cargo but definitely not your jewelry. If you do this with all your valuable items, the potential of being a victim of theft will be reduced.
