Finally, you have bought your dream house! Now, the real tough work will start-moving. For sure, you have heard so many horror stories about moving. But don't worry about that because as long as you are prepared, you won't add up another horror story about moving.
So, here is the checklist of what you should do to be prepared for the moving:
· Decide as early as possible which of your things will go with you for the move or not. For the things you won't bring, you can sell these in a garage sale, have these as consignment, sell these to thrift stores, or donate these to charities.
· Shop around for a moving company and carefully compare their offered services and rates. Getting estimates from at least three companies will already be helpful. But don't just get estimates over the phone. Let the movers come into your house and see the things they have to move. Give them also more information about the moving like the services you expect from them and the distance. This way, they can give you an accurate estimate, not just rough estimate.
· Plan your travel as early as possible. If you need to stay in a place for a night, then have a lodging reservation now. Just don't forget to leave a copy of your new address to some neighbors, friends, and family.
· Take note of the things you will leave in your old address like your bank account, medical records, school records, etc.
Moving can really be a tough life encounter. But as long as you are prepared for this, then you will never experience another moving horror story.
