How to Pack Crockery
Published on Tuesday, 29 December 2009

How to Pack CrockeryYour prised crockery has to be packed carefully to ensure it remains intact after your move. So follow these tips for safely packing your plates, soup bowls and saucers.    Packing your plates   You have to first place a plate in the middle of a stack of butchers paper or plain newspaper. Fold the paper to fully cover the plate from the corner near you. Place the next paper on this, and repeat the procedure till a maximum of six plates are covered.   Next, you should wrap the two adjoining corners of the paper over the plates and fold the bundle away from you. Then pack the whole bundle two or three more times, using some sheets of paper. This bundle of plates can now be packed in your carton. Of course, pack your heaviest plates on the carton bottom whilst you place smaller plates on top.   Packing your cups   Cups have to be packed singularly, or in bundles, depending on how you plan to place them in your carton. If you pack them together, pack them as you did the plates. They have to be wrapped into a bundle and then placed in the carton, with its drinking edge down. You can also pack them individually if you want.   Packing other crockery   In case of any other crockery, they are safe if you wrap them with layers of paper. They always have to be packed on their edges or with their rims facing down.   No matter what, always use more paper to pack your crockery as they ensure your crockery remains safe and intact during your move.
