Finding a roommate is not easy. You need to know if you can trust him and depend on him. A roommate must be someone you can easily go along with. A roommate person you need to have must be reliable, trustworthy and honest. So how are you going to find that kind of roommate for your new house? First, you must interview that person and ask him important questions you need to know. You can go to any public places where you can have chitchat and nice, casual conversation. You must find out the hobbies and activities that interest him so you can make plans, in case you get him, during weekends for a trip. Then, you must know what he likes in a room or what he expects in a house. You do not want to end up living with someone who complains a lot regarding the use of utilities and amenities. You should be able to get the person that knows how to take care of the house too. You both must share in cleaning the entire house and not just his own room and bathroom. Aside from those things, you must both agree to certain rules and policies in the house that you want to be followed. Examples are the split of the various household chores and bills since these are the most important matters you need to clarify before you finally decide to get him as your roommate. Lastly, you must check his background and see his status regarding financial and criminal backgrounds. If possible you also look for his job information to ensure he can help you with the monthly bills you need to pay.
