The thing with fragile items is that not only are they delicate, many of them are valuable as well. For instance, paintings, antiques and delicate china and dishes would surely be worth much. Frames and photos may not be monetarily worth that much but they are very important to you as well. It's only imperative that you pack them properly so you will not lose a single item during the move.
You would want to have a TV when you get to your new home. It would have been better if you kept the original box. But if you disposed it you have no choice but to provide padding around the TV before you pack them. Then make sure you have a special place for them in the van and it will be attended to so it will not get poked or fallen on throughout the transportation.
The same should be done to paintings and other framed items. It should be first wrapped by bubble wraps before the final wrapping. It should also be loaded in a special place so they will remain safe as well.
For ornaments and dishes, polystyrene bead lined boxes are also available in the market. Using them helps protect these items. Of course, you still need to individually wrap the dishes to ensure their safety. For additional cushion, you can use white papers too.
While these tips may sound more tedious, following them would really be worth because you will get your things complete and intact.
