It is so easy to forget things while packing the house for a move and this list will let you know about the five things that are commonly left behind but not by choice mainly because they just slip our mind. Forgetting certain things is almost inevitable because moving can be a stressful endeavor that is of course unless you have moved multiple times and this is the case for some and sooner or later you just know. The wisdom of packing and moving comes with experience.
The first thing that is commonly left behind or forgotten during the jumbling of a move is stuff left under the kitchen sink. Most of us store different things under the kitchen sink and usually these are things that we don't use to often such as oven cleaner or even old Tupperware. The problem is we remember it after the move. If kitchen cleaners are something you store under the kitchen sink try not to forget to pack or discard these chemicals because they could later pose a hazard if the house will be unattended for a while. When homes have no one occupying them for a while temperatures rise inside homes and pressurized chemicals can explode or leak.
Things that are hanging on walls throughout homes often get left behind as well because we are not used to moving them frequently. These include pictures, bathroom towels we have hanging and posters. It is a funny phenomenon that happens really once we settle down from the move we remember that we left behind such things maybe it's because the stress of the move has worn off as we sit down on the sofa and take a breath or maybe it's just because we don't find these things as we are unpacking. Try to make a note physically or mentally to take pictures, posters and get the towel off the hook on the bathroom door.
Another thing that is forgotten during a move is boxes and items stored in attics, not everyone has an attic but those who do almost always forget about the stuff we have stored up there again probably because the saying "out of sight of out of mind" is quite true. Like cleaning try to start from top to bottom when it comes to packing your things for a move, this will help not to let the attic space slip your mind, think of it as a room you need to pack.
If you are moving into a furnished flat from a furnished flat you, it is most likely that you will just plain forget any items you hid under the bed during your stay. This is easily avoided but commonly forgotten by most. Just remember to check underneath all the beds when you are packing and you are likely to find some stuff you forgot that you put there.
The last of the frequently left behind items are the thing in the bathroom medicine cabinet. This is quite important too because most likely this is where you store all your medicines, make-up and creams. Leaving behind your medicine is one of the things that can be fatal, especially for those who are dependent on these. Sometimes the things you are most aware of are the easiest things to forget or overlook during a move.
Keep all of these things in mind and you probably won't leave anything behind or let these common things get by you while you are packing and preparing for the big move.
